Games should be played by the date shown for each round. In exceptional circumstances, a period of up to seven days may be granted beyond the deadline and that date will be FINAL. (See Substitutes and Replacements)

  1. ARRANGEMENTS OF GAMES

(a) The first named side ‘the challenger’ must give the opponent three alternative and reasonable times and dates for playing the game within the time scale allowed. The dates should include a mixture of weekend and evening times. Where all players are available during the day it will be acceptable to offer daytime options.

(b) ‘The challenger’ must offer the three dates within 10 days of the advertised deadline for the previous round. Failure by ‘the challenger’ to offer the dates within this term or if the opposition are unable to agree the dates offered, all efforts should be made to find a mutually agreeable date.

(c) In the event that agreement cannot be reached amicably the Competition Secretary must be informed and will reserve the right to disqualify players.

(d) Playing in external competitions will not be an excuse for not playing internal competitions within the scheduled time limits.

(e) All singles games must have a marker to be arranged by the first named player ‘the challenger.’

  1. SUBSTITUTES AND REPLACEMENTS

(a) A replacement is a person who takes the place of an original player before the first round is played and becomes the recognised player for the team. The replacement player must be approved by the Competition Secretary and pay a match entry fee

(b) A substitute is a person who stands in for another player for one or more rounds within a competition.

(c) Each team may use only one substitute for each competition.

(d) The substitute must not play for any other team in the same competition.

(e) No substitute may play in the singles competitions.

(f) Any substitute must be agreed by the Competition Secretary.

(g) In the event that a member of a team is unable to play within the seven-day extended deadline that person must be substituted, or the match will be conceded.

(h) No player should reach the final of a singles competition if they are aware in advance that they cannot play on the day of the final. The individual should withdraw from the competition immediately.

(i) A player entered in a team competition can continue in the competition and one substitute be used by the team at any time up to and including the final.

(j) In order to qualify as a substitute for a team competition a player must have entered one or more knock-out competitions in the current season.
